The proposed season and allowing guns in motorboats during the summer is a bad idea. This is the breeding season for all birds. The harm done to all aquatic birds through habitat disturbance as well as the number killed through mistaken identity is unacceptable, since cormorant hunters will be accessing areas that would normally be left undisturbed during this critical breeding period. This is also the period when non-hunters, including families with small children are spending time in the natural environment. The presence of hunters will have a negative impact on their activities.
