The owner of 1635 Lawrence Avenue West should NOT BE ALLOWED to have this proposal via the Provincial Government (Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing) for a Minister’s Zoning Order (MZO) to rezone their property for affordable housing and mixed-use development. If I understand correctly, this process bypasses the City of Toronto and the local community, removing them from the approval process. I as many other area residents request for a Minister's Zoning Order for affordable housing and mixed-use development in the City of Toronto | Environmental Registry of Ontario. In saying this I, and many, many area residents and commuters who frequent the area on a daily basis know the frustration as it as at the present time with traffic. This development, if it would go through would cause major traffic delays, during and post construction, pollution, environmental issues with the surrounding green spaces and just put a huge strain on the surrounding area. Not only that, but the stress this development would put on the aging infrastructure in the already problematic area, that has seen flooding to area homes over the last few years and still this day is unfortunately a reoccurring issue.
