Protecting endangered species is essential for the not only the interests of the web of life, but the moral fabric of humanity. Prioritizing the interests of industry and infrastructure (all human centric interests) over the literal lives of other species destroys permanently not only their existence but our 'souls'. To thrive as people and beings on this planet we need to have a longer term integrative approach to development. The slashing, toppling, killing, destroying mentality of this current government serves only capitalistic gains for a small group of developers and builds minor conveniences for the voter while destroying forever for generations to come the species that inhabit this planet. No rare minerals or new highways are worth this incessant devastation.
