The people of Dresden do not…

The people of Dresden do not support this initiative. Perhaps the leaders of our Province could immediately take steps to reduce waste in our Province rather than continually chasing it down the road to the USA or new landfill locations. Instant reduction of consumer and industrial waste can be made possible through regulations (ex. EPR properly laid out). If this is not possible as per our Leaders, then fast tracking another site that isn’t 1km from a school and daycare facility and taking over 100 acres of top Ontario farmland (corner of 21 and Croton Road) out of commission is most certainly an option. The idea that this was once a landfill also brings to mind that Toronto (where the majority of the waste originates) was also a landfill from front street into Lake Ontario. Perhaps we can look at creating more usable city land out of our waste like the 1920’s-1950’s. Dresden does not wish to be part of someone else’s problem. Thank you
