I strongly opposes the changes being made to the Endangered Species Act. The proposed changes will weaken the provinces biodiversity and put additional species at increased risk. This approach of putting economic decisions above scientific realities is short sighted. The definition of habitat must include areas of migration and feeding, or an species is unable to survive. The list of species at risk must be under the control of an independent committee, not a politician. Please do not weaken environmental protections for short term gains.
