Considering the urgent need to curb carbon emissions, and thus to move away from fossil fuels in power generation, I submit my concerns re White Pines proposal as follows:
Since the above named project already has four (4) turbines erected, with a fifth at the point of completion, it would be a waste of taxpayer's money to spend up to $100 million and receive nothing for it. I suggest a better, more fiscally responsible action would be to complete the fifth turbine and then purchase the project as it is, with 5 completed turbines. It could then become part of OPG and help in our switch from oil fired generation to a more ecologically safe process.
I will not benefit personally from this project, but I am a resident of Milford, in Prince Edward County. I can see all four completed turbines from my house and have no objections to their presence. My personal knowledge of the matter would certainly indicate that many more residents here support the project, than the vocal few who have made their objections known to Queens Park.
