The move to allow hunting of cormorants is long overdue. The environmental damage to the landscape where they are running rampant is disgraceful and highlights the political interference that has lead to a population explosion that requires action. What we can’t see is the impact on the fish forage base. Considering the cormorrant’s daily intake requirements it’s obvious that where their populations have exploded damage is being done.
