It has been proven that self regulation does not work. Developers wil take advantage of the proposed changes. This government needs to start making science based decisions. There are ways to reduce administrative burden this is not it. Self regulation has not worked and this government has not hired enough people to assure compliance. This will turn into an ask for forgiveness process and yet again forgiveness will be given with another soft approach to compliance. This government has proven through the Crown Forest Sustainability Act, the Public Lands Act, Aggregate Resources Act etc l. That voluntary compliance does not work and you are unwilling to provide the resources to allow your ministries to complete real compliance monitoring.
