Location a landfill site 800 metres from any town makes no sense. The proposed Dresden landfill without a full EA fails to protect not only the town, but also the surrounding area and the municipality. A full EA will prove that this location raises many problems including proximity to residents, proximity to waterways, dangerous traffic due to schooling zones, traffic flow, road conditions, etc., just to name a few. York 1 is trying to exploit a potential loophole in the name of greed. As Premier Doug Ford publicly stated last year, “ If Dresden does not want it, than it shouldn’t happen”.
