Reasons I feel this proposal…

Reasons I feel this proposal needs to be rejected:

1. Unanimous Municipal Opposition: Chatham-Kent Council has taken a strong, unanimous stand against the proposal.
2. Community Mobilization: The people of Dresden have been vocal, informed, and persistent since day 1.
3. Environmental and Legal Gaps: The proposal is trying to bypass modern environmental standards by relying on outdated approvals. That’s a red flag and should be challenged—especially given the Environmental Assessment regulation that was already in place.
4. Support from Allies: Various groups such as the Environmental Defence are against this proposal and there has been national media coverage against this.
5. Genuine Safety Risks: Proximity to water, endangered species, schools, and homes—as well as the company’s troubling track record—creates undeniable cause for caution.
