Do we really need another reason to kill innocent wildlife in the name of ‘sport’? It will be OK for an appropriately licensed individual to kill up to 50 Cormorants per day and then just leave them to rot? Really? Because it’s fun? The Government of Ontario has not provided one substantiated or verifiable scientific reason to justify why this unneeded change should even be suggested. Hunting for food, I understand. The unnecessary slaughter of wildlife for pleasure, I do not. This is the twenty-first century. Our thinking on blood sports has changed more over the last hundred years than it has over the last hundred centuries. It’s evolved for good reasons. This change to the Fish & Wildlife Conservation Act should not be made. We should be better than this by now.
