This site is unacceptable…

This site is unacceptable due to is proximity to the town core of Dresden. This is a town that relies upon tourism and being home to a landfill is certain to have an impact on the town’s economy.

I understand the need for landfills. I even could understand another landfill in Chatham-Kent, even though I feel Chatham-Kent is already doing our fair share of garage disposal. What I can’t understand and find totally unacceptable is the approval of a landfill so close to the town. There cannot be many other cases in Ontario where the landfill is closer than what is being proposed in this case.

Secondly but of equal importance is the lack of review of the impact the landfill will have on the local environment. This is especially concerning as there is a watercourse running through the property.

I feel we are being targeted due to the size of our town in hopes our voices won’t be loud enough to stop this unacceptable and rushed process.
