This law will gut any measures of due process in protecting the environment. This will have a huge negative impact on endangered species and this goes against our collective greater interests. Young people deserve to have a world where they can enjoy the fruits of tomorrow.
“Slow” does not equal bad. Sometimes slow is necessary because it allows for the due process of all the individuals who may be impacted by the decisions that amount from this process. When we are making decisions that could result in the loss of a species, this is not something that should be taken lightly without regard to our collective interests.
This legislation erodes the beauty of our province and overreaches its power into the constitutional rights of Canadians who want to enjoy and protect endangered species. To destroy our most vulnerable species without due process is tiptoeing into fascism and as Canadians, we must protect democracy at all costs.
