We must prioritize the environment over short term economic gains. We cannot let industries profit off of environmental destruction, that is selling our future for the present. Endangered species must be protected!
The redefinition of habitat is FAR too limited. The immediate surrounding area does not exist as an isolated, sealed off space, it is connected with the wider area around it. This is a bad compromise, the areas deserving protection indeed should not be vague, but it cannot be so narrow and unscientific either. Go consult environmental scientists, this bill reeks of profit-driven motives.
