It's incomprehensible that in the year 2025 in an advanced nation, governing bodies do not recognize the importance of maintaining safeguards to biodiversity, species at risk and the lands on which we all depend. On top of that, to think that removing decision making power from people who are educated, experienced and immersed in the relevant field and giving that power to an elected official who is under more pressure from lobbyists and big business than the influence of what is smart and just is a dangerous proposal. Your party won another majority government with the mandate to stand up for the residents of Ontario for now and into the future, not to have the authority to do whatever suits some elected officials and the few big business who throw the most money at them.
