The implications of this bill are alarming in many ways. We should all be concerned that this bill allows the government and potential corporations to disregard laws in order to accomplish things. I fear about the impact on our most vulnerable communities. I fear more situations like what is happening at what was once Ontario place and even the selling of green space that should not be touched. We need to look deeper at how our current government/Conservatives is benefiting from this at the cost of all Ontarians, endangered species, Indigenous communities, etc. Decisions need to be made that don’t just have an immediate benefit to those currently in power, but also to figure generations. Bills should be passed that look at putting safeguards in place for people, animals and land from corporations who are more interested in profit. This bill needs to be revised or even removed before irreversible harm is done.
