This is a catastrophic move…

This is a catastrophic move. Landfills are a huge source of greenhouse gas— the goal should be to reduce landfill space by diverting waste to circular systems of reuse and compost, not simply making more landfills. This thinking is inherently flawed and short sighted.

As our natural spaces are being destroyed by human caused climate change, we need to be increasing our support of endangered species and green spaces, not trying to accelerate this ecological emergency as Bill 5 will do.

Without an ecosystem, humans and human activities cannot continue. We need to unleash the Ontario economy by creating a green and sustainable economy — with an eye to becoming world leaders in this area; building smart for a sustainable and healthy future for Ontarians.

The ford government has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of knowledge, insight, and care for Ontarios green spaces and animal species, and the economic benefits of the same. This bill is another example of that short sighted and gravely detrimental thinking. We can do much better than this.
