I am a concerned citizen who is disturbed by the ministry’s plan to include double crested cormorants in its list of game birds. It does a great disservice to the sport in general. The image of a hunter shooting into a flock of these birds for no purpose other than to destroy them ( since they are inedible) is really off-putting. To have permission to kill 50 per day for months and months is difficult to understand . The department will have ‘ a lot of explaining to do ‘ when carcasses start washing ashore .
Leave them alone.
