Municipalities really need to retain the authorities they need to ensure
development focuses on health, safety, and long-term affordability for Ontarians while reducing
red tape and increasing efficiency. Far too many times I have seen well intentioned regulations fall through-the-cracks because the decisions are made too far from the communities they serve, and provide ‘equality’ but not *equity*. Decision-making needs to be by the stakeholders, and not so far removed, making it a “one-size-fits-none”. Each community needs to have their own unique input to ensure adequate service to that individual community.
