The Town of Renfrew supports…

The Town of Renfrew supports the inclusion of small business, community facilities and not-for profit organizations in the common collection system. The Town of Renfrew believes that responsibility for end of life management of bluebox material should fall on the Producers regardless of where the material is disposed of, as this is the most efficient and effective solution that will drive Producers to produce less waste and address the root causes of waste. However, based on the proposed amendment wording, the Town of Renfrew is willing to contribute financially to ensure that small business, community facilities and not-for profit organizations continue to receive curbside bluebox collection at a reasonable cost to the municipality, in order for those materials to be diverted from the municipal landfill.
