The redevelopment of this land is critically important to the North End community, providing much-needed mixed-use housing near Hamilton's beautiful bayfront. I am utterly disgusted that CN Rail has obstructed this vital development with their insanely illogical and hypocritical reasons.
Their claims of 'odour, vibration, and noise' are baseless. These 'impacts' are neither new nor unique to the area. CN Rail's operations never prevented Hamiltonians from living there before, nor do these alleged impacts deter current residents who live even closer to the tracks. Therefore, it's preposterous to suggest these are legitimate reasons to halt the redevelopment of a residential area.
The argument that CN Rail 'has a duty to protect future residents' is an insult when families like mine already thrive in this proximity. It's revolting that CN Rail has indirectly contributed to homelessness in our community with such nonsensical objections. This development must begin immediately!"
