I write to express strong opposition to the Proposed changes to provide flexibility for water taking activities. Water is a resource that is vital to human existence, both directly and indirectly as it is foundational to the web of life on earth. If certain interests are allowed to take unlimited water from our system without proper regulation, there will be places and people who will be deprived of the water they need to drink, water their crops, provide water for their livestock.

Water needs to be properly regulated so that clean, abundant water is freely available to all residents of Ontario and Canada so that they can live healthy, productive lives and contribute to Ontario's economy. Without this protection our economy as well as our lives are threatened.

There is no way to fully express how disastrous to Ontario's future this proposal will be. The Ontario government MUST continue to regulate our precious freshwater resources in order that we may continue to have a prosperous and healthy society into the future.
