Based on the decisions made by current council regarding land use at municipality owned lands at Beach 1 and 2, with little to no transparency, in camera meetings not open to the public for comments, I am totally opposed to this proposal to put even more environmentally sensitive public lands in their hands. Once all of the townhouses are built, they will inevitably become short term rentals blocking public access to the beach and with absentee landlords, will eventually become slums in the heart of our town. Giving them even more land will only lead to more of the same and less for the people of Ontario to have to enjoy freely.
