I have been following the dispute between CN and the City of Hamilton Housing for too many years! Why is it that CN has not been able to negotiate an acceptable agreement with the City of Hamilton to allow housing to be rebuilt on this property? "City Housing" owned houses that were on this property for many years so it just does not make sense.
There are other areas of the city with railroad crossings very close to residences. IE - near Gage and Maplewood, to name just one. The wasted time, money and resources that have been put into this ongoing dispute should end NOW. I am happy that the City of Hamilton was bold enough to ask for a Ministerial Zoning Order to get this much needed development started. It is way over due and desperately needed by so many low income/no income/disabled people that do not have permanent housing. This development has the potential to provide over 600 homes!
Respectfully submitted for your consideration.
