I am writing to say that I am strongly opposed to the sale of parts of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park.
This is valuable public land. In the hands of the municipality, it could be re-zoned and up for development. There is no guarantee that the land for endangered species would be preserved.
Our provincial park land is just that: land for people of the PROVINCE. Selling provincial park land to the municipality sets a dangerous precedent for all provincial parks.
Ontarians as a whole love our parks and we don’t want to reduce the amount of land but would rather see it increased.
Please do not approve this. It could lead to much less public access to beachfront and would very negatively affect precious ecosystems for animals we all value.
