This proposal is akin to choosing to continue smoking while dying of lung cancer. Why does our government feel the need to sacrifice our province’s future in order to accelerate pollution and ecological destruction in the name of “progress”?
This isn’t progress. This is turning back the clock to the age of pillaging and genocide before what few environmental protections we have were written into law. It is a planned and celebrated rape of our delicate land all so that a few billionaires can get a little bit richer. Look closely at who exactly is going to benefit the most from these projects — after all, our Premier and his land developer cronies have certainly had a very profitable time so far while he’s been in office, so why would this project be any different? They’ve already put more alcohol and drugs than ever into our children’s hands to line their pockets. A bunch of little birds certainly aren’t going to stop them.
If the people running this province genuinely want to protect our land while investing in tourism then they need to actually listen to environmental experts when they say that this is a categorically bad idea instead of brushing them off. Find ways to develop tourism while PROTECTING our province instead of by exploiting it.
