It is irresponsible of our government to allow lakefront areas to change jurisdictions of the ministry. Lakefront areas are home to a multitude of species, both animals and plants. Allowing the area to be redeveloped and zoned differently will disrupt critical habitats, not to mention the risk of flooding due to the water table and global warming. It should NOT be a priority to develop this land and disturb its ecological sensitivity in the name of tourism and human development. We need to learn to appreciate the natural land, and that should be what folks come to see- it is evident this is the case from how busy the beach gets in its current natural state. Selling off land will make that remaining area even more crowded and disrupt wildlife there even further. I do not want to see beautiful natural land sold off in the name of corporate gain. You got your hands on Ontario Place for your big corporate island, keep your hands off of this!
