As an indigenous person with family ties to Wasaga Beach and Georgian Bay, I would rather see the Provincial Park be the one to take over Beach Areas 1, 2, New Wasaga, Allenwood Beach and the Downtown area of Wasaga Beach, in effect extending the Provincial Park along the shore. This would allow for it to be used as a Campground like many other parks in Ontario providing an economic benefit to the Township by creating more jobs while allowing public access to the beach to be maintained for everyone. The Campground would work well in tandem with the musical events held on the beach during the summer, providing an accessible place for visitors to sleep. The natural geography of the beach provides access to both the bay and the Nottawasaga River on either side making it a desirable spot for non-motorized water sports enthusiasts and anglers alike. The above mentioned would create jobs in Tourism while maintaining the Ecological and Aesthetic value of Wasaga Beach as seen in many Provincial Parks while working with the Township in coordinating events to stimulate economic growth.
