During my years of canoeing and kayaking throughout Ontario, I have enjoyed observing the return of double-crested cormorants. I disagree with the proposal to have a hunting season for these species; rather, we should be doing everything possible in environmental policy and practices to encourage and maintain the return of these birds and other indigenous wildlife to our lakes and waterways.
