Cities deserve the right to govern themselves. And the people deserve safe options for travel instead of having to rely solely on cars or Toronto's unreliable and limited public transit options.

I bike to work every day. And it allows me to shave 30 minutes off my commute. I fly by cars, and streetcars and buses. This bill will simply add to congestion, make my commute to work longer and more unsafe and limit options for travel in the city.

"You're nervous when there's not bike lanes. At least I was.... Someone dings you from behind and... we have to do everything we can to make sure there's never a death in the city. One death is way too many when it comes to bicycle riders. We have to make sure that they're safe. And I felt so much safer when it was separated."

That is a DIRECT quote from Doug Ford. What has changed? What is the evidence he is basing this about-face on? It honestly feels like he is punishing the city of Toronto for not electing him mayor. And at the end of the day, Toronto will suffer with worse congestion and traffic.
