As a woman who uses bikes and cars for transportation and recreation and a proponent of allowing municipalities to make their own decisions regarding safe transportation infrastructure, I strongly object to this Bill's over-reach. Why in 2025 when many Canadian jurisdictions locally and regionally are making the cultural shifts that benefit everyone environmentally, economically and socially through safer, connected bike infrastructure is the Ontario provincial government intent on wasting money, energy and lives. We can see that the future isn't - or shouldn't - be based on car dominance and that there are many options for balancing the needs of those who must drive and those who can't, don't want to or shouldn't.
