Hundreds of families depend on this as their clean water source in the Hamilton and Halton Regions. I know there are people who drive out from Toronto. I myself drive 40 minutes each way out from Smithville to bottle water here every week. The changes made recently to publicly accessed well water and arsenic are infalted numbers for the sole purpose of attacking natural springs and allowing more access for businesses like nestle to control the wells and diminish our god given rights. There is 50 times more arsenic in bottled juice then there is in any natural spring or aquifer in this province, how is that itself even allowed or legal?
Ontarian's need the right to choose between clean untainted water from the earths crust or purchase bottled liquid with random amounts of trace toxins and plastics. Tap water is no alternative, I speak for thousands of Ontarian's when I say I do want to drink the chemical soup we consider to be "Water."
Clean water is not something that can be sold or controlled. Any natural resource must be protected and kept pure, with uninhibited access for everyone.
This bill will systematically attack and destroy all natural sources of water in the province not to mention farm lands and forests. All I am seeing in the news now is how we need to more carbon emissions and be more environmentally sound with our business infrastructure. Canada claims to be green and leading the way yet we are constantly peeling back protection laws and laying off environmental scientists? Can we start drawing a line and sticking to it?
