I used to be for it until I saw what happened. Now I’m against the amalgamation due to previous history.
In the past when amalgamation was done many municipalities lost services the new equipment paid by smaller towns were taken to the bigger towns and even though someone paid for that equipment someone else benefited by confiscation and to add to insult, smaller towns lost their benefits in order to pay for the bigger town’s debts.
The best way to predict future behaviour is to watch the past behaviour.
