Make improvements should include maintaining the integrity of the water systems and land that drains into the water shed that North Bay and Mattawa is head of. It starts here, clean water is a priority.
Currently the conservation association running under questionable best practice of land holding; And so is this current provincial government operating under questionable best practice of land holding.

There is a rush to control public real estate assets. I would like to believe with hope that whoever controls the public assets will do so with the environment in mind, clean water at the head water to fresh water that leads to the ocean. We need to keep the system clean.

Let's make the right choice with the right people at the helm. The current Authority is the right system with the wrong people doing things for the wrong reasons, outside of the public mandate and interest.
Can the provincial government do any better? The record suggests no, and worse without a Environment Commissioner. The province of Ontario provides no oversight, by design somehow appearing to be unaware of science and the interchange between nature and nurture, that we need a healthy environment to be healthy (mentally and physically and socially). The current government acting as predator of greed instead, or so their conduct suggests.

All things considered, it should be left to "the devil we know";
unless the provincial government can care for the assets with real science, and a responsible and respected commissioner to provide oversight to keep the water shed clean which has never been part of their man-date.

In conclusion: Sadly the current provincial government conduct with land in trust gives no hope this Christmas; And the status quo of mystery and crime is a sign that there is no hope with the municipal and provincial leadership.
