I am vehemently in opposition to Ford’s plan to consolidate our current 36 conservation authorities into only 7 regional bodies. We do not need “shovels in the ground faster”, as stated in the Ford government’s official press release. As a lifelong resident of Ontario for 54 years, I am once again appalled at what Ford is consistently doing to our environment in order to further his own wealth and the wealth of his developer friends, all at the expense of life around us. Our natural resources and watersheds are in need of more protections, not less. Micro ecosystems which are vital to wildlife and in extension our own wellbeing, are further endangered by Ford’s selfish monetary agendas. Ford’s plan is in place uonly to undermine the power of conservation authorities by only having to go through seven agencies instead of 36. The citizens of the province need to be listened to.. Ford is supposed to work for the citizens of Ontario, not for his own gain and those of his friends, at the expense of us and our environment. Repeal Bill 68. Repeal Bill 5.
