Your proposal to reduce the number of Conservation Authorities to 7 Regional Bodies - I would suggest you put a hold on this decision and discuss with all conservation authorities. I can understand why the government would want to reduce the numbers but do not understand why you are not consulting with the local conservation authorities.

Slow down on the changes - Be transparent by consulting.

You are obviously getting pressure from developers and in fact there are some conservation authorities that have a great relationship with municipal government . The permits are being met with respect to Housing Development. Don't you want to find out how-why. Don't put everyone in the same basket.

I agree that we need to centralize some of the services and this can be done but not by reducing 36 to 7. What is the issue - we all want to expedite development and infrastructure project. The importance of protecting certain lands will and should always remain. This is the conservation role and not the Developers.

Rural representation - Where does that fit in everything. I have not seen the support or priority in the proposal. The importance of a relationship with land owners, farmers takes time and you think by making the regions bigger will help. The outreach is important and this is where you can come in not by reducing the regions.

French speaking residents - Funding is required to translate documents and this is costly. How does this fit in the proposal.

The Agency is happening, now lets discuss the next steps - and who best then the present and you should be proud, local Conservation Authorities.
