As a voting citizen of Ontario, I am strongly opposed to the amalgamation of the conservation authorities. I live in the boundaries of the Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority. Professionally, I have worked closely with the LSRCA in many educational capacities, teaching students of many ages about the land they live on. If you go through with this amalgamation the intimate knowledge of the space will be lost and so many educational opportunities will be lost.
Moreover, the conservation authorities are our moral compass in many respects as to how to care for the land. This government has no concern for the future and is the most short- sighted government I have experienced in my lifetime at a time where we desperately need to think of the future.
This is a huge error and if followed through on I absolutely will not vote for another conservative government.
