I strongly oppose section 10…

I strongly oppose section 10 of proposed Bill 66. This would give businesses the opportunity of disregarding existing zoning laws which give environmental protection to areas in Ontario such as the Greenbelt surrounding Toronto. This is a continuation of the ongoing assault which the current Government of Ontario has launched on the environment since taking office. The actions of Premier Ford and the Conservative Government are shameful and extremely short sighted. Protection of our fragile environment for future generations is much more important than giving businesses the opportunity of generating more profits. In the election campaign of May 2018, after Ford was caught on video telling business developers that he would open large chunks of the Greenbelt for development, he backtracked and promised to protect the Greenbelt. He is now breaking this promise.
