I strongly oppose the new proposed regulations. The former regulations were put in place to protect the environment , protect the quality of life for residents of Ontario and to encourage an open and respectful process. The new proposals show total disregard for the environment and the rights of the citizens of Ontario to appeal decisions that impact their communities. As well these proposals allow elected officials to approve plans based solely on their own biases with no accountability. As well decisions could be made that financially benefit elected officials. The province of Ontario can be open for business without sacrificing the rights of its citizens and the protection of Ontario’s environment and quality of life.
