I am opposed to any new legislation which allows municipalities, businesses, etc to override the provisions of the current Greenbelt Act, The Clean Water Act, The Lake Simcoe Act, the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Act, and the Great Lakes Protection Act. The environment needs to be protected and by now we must all realize that past decisions made made without consideration of the impact on the environment including water, air, trees, plants, fish, etc. etc. has brought the world to its current state where temperatures are rising, there are more frequent and powerful weather events, species are being lost and ultimately affecting human health and well -being.
