I am very concerned about this proposal. It would take us back to the backward planning of decades ago that resulted in unmanageable sprawl. It would result in the renewed, unnecessary sacrifice of agricultural land and increased land speculation and political pressure on municipalities. The present Growth Plan is quite well conceived and is functioning well. There is not a shortage of land for housing or industry. These changes are being forced on us by powerful developer interests whose main concern is making money off their speculative land ownership.
