It is known (and you know it too) that there is no foolproof way to have nuclear plants that are 100% safe, and there is no way to dispose of nuclear waste except storage (which cannot be guaranteed to be safe).
Meanwhile, great advances are being made in Solar Power. Once we can harvest it dependably and store it efficiently we will be free of the need for power plants. Do you realize that large areas of Australia now use solar power exclusively. Let's work on that and be ahed of the curve.
By the time you get the next nuclear plant finished, it may already be obsolete!
