In an area that I have been studying and hundreds of residents live, I find it alarming that no one there realize that the Conservation Authorities projections in an extreme flood event would find themselves at great risk of loss of life unless they had recently found themselves in need of a permit.

People how had lived there for many years and have never needed to have dealing with the Conservation Authority would likely be completely unaware of the floods projected by the Conservation Authority in their areas and nothing has been done to protect them.
