I'm fine with resource extraction, as long as the province gets a good value for the resource. Set the price properly, as high as possible without losing the companies to different jurisdictions. If there is any evidence that aquifer draw is too high, then I'm ok kicking the companies out - get lost.

People rely too heavily on bottled water - this mindset (or sometimes requirement!) needs to change in order to really affect the environmental aspects associated with bottling/bottled water. Does the province provide bottled water in emergencies, or to any communities in any other situation? This needs to stop, increase the per million litre rate for extraction, use this money to build/purchase/incentivize mobile treatment plants and stop supporting Nestle (et al.) by making them necessary for health. So dumb that the go-to is bottled water. I buy a few glass bottles and then reuse them indefinitely using my tap water.

Anyway, the disruptive activists think we can just stop bottling water in Ontario and then we will solve the issues around the world - it will just displace these companies to go potentially screw people in other locations. There is a balance, and I'm sure this is the intention of this proposal. Good for you for looking at it. Please remain clear-headed and uninfluenced by people who either like to disrupt (activists) or trick us (companies).
