This project is clearly more of a profit-making effort for the few, yet again. There are myriad options to counter plastic without the continuing rapacious mentality of capitalism that would clear out entire ecological systems for a dollar. The world has myriad efforts to counter the damage of that last great idea that is now filling our bodies and oceans with its consequences. We don't need to destroy any more ecology for such little benefit.
