As a resident of rural Ontario it is incumbent on me to register my DISAPPROVAL for any expansion or change to the Spring Bear Hunt. In fact there should be absolutely no Spring Bear Hunt. I have witnessed first hand the relationship between a mother bear and her offspring on our property. Regrettably there are many instances whereby the sows are killed by hunters, they see a bear and shoot, realizing later it’s a sow bear. The offspring either starve to death or the MNR become involved sending the orphans to organizations like Bear With Us to be raised and released at 18 months. This has to stop!
