I am president of a medium sized home builder in the Quinte area. The proposal if drafted into legislation will result in potentially significant increased costs to buyers of new homes and a new bureaucracy (overhead costs) set up to support the legislation. It will result in lots of work (more overhead costs) for consultants who will be invited to come up with new ways to pass along costs for more "wish list" items deemed to be politically essential by municipalities. There are already processes in place that are open and transparent to all of the taxpaying public for municipalities to provide community benefits without adding another structure. We need less overhead - not more.
