It is inappropriate to consider this application during the current pandemic because the latter makes it impossible to convene a public meeting where the applicant would have to explain the project and answer the public's questions. It appears that this timing was not accidental.

It also appears that the applicant would not be a good corporate citizen, for, even at this early stage where community support should be desirable, the applicant seems to be avoiding any sense of transparency and didn't even respond to a request for comment from a local community newspaper.

The local inhabitants should not have to continue to fight the same battle time and again. They just relatively recently completed a wining effort to prevent a City of Toronto proposal to truck waste products into and out of the same neighbourhood. Why should these people be persecuted?

A numbered company should be suspect when attempting to enter into a process requiring environmental approvals. If a company cannot show at least the transparency of a name and a list of corporate executives, it should be held in the greatest of suspicion.
