Re: Schedule 3 must be removed from Bill 257.
The development on protected or non environmentally assessed lands will increase the flood risks, will destroy wildlife habitats and lead to irreparable harm to Ontario's environment ----environment that belongs to ALL ONTARIANS, not solely to the government.
Ontario's constituents, along with me, care about protecting forests and wetlands....all through the province which includes the current hot issues of Duffin's Creek, Lake Simcoe and the Holland Marsh Highway as examples.
The inclusion of this ability to allow development of protected land is an unrelated action to Broadband and Infrastructure Act and should not have been combined.
There are many other SUITABLE lands for Industrial development.
In addition to the environmental concerns , there is the democratic elephant in the room which includes:
The MZO approach to approvals totally violates the interests and rights of Ontarians. Without pre-decision input and no appeal capabilities by residents Ontario is no longer a democratic state.
Proposing a Bill that retroactively makes an ILLEGAL Government act now legal violates all that we hold democratic and fair.
