The expansion of the greenbelt is a great idea, although it lacks ambition. Many areas that are vulnerable to urban sprawl, like Lincoln, Brant, Waterloo, Wellington, Simcoe, Haldimand, Northumberland, and South Niagara (especially Welland) need to be given the protections that should protect the areas currently in the greenbelt. I say "should," as the current ability to take land out of the greenbelt completely defeats its purpose.

I am also in complete agreement that first nations must first be consulted before any significant development takes place, especially in the area comprising the Haldimand Tract.
